Shakey’s Record Fair

I host a record fair 4 to 6 times per year. I arrange with a venue and invite record sellers to set up tables of vinyl, then invite people who love records to come dj, buy goodies, and socialize. Other people’s record fairs start early in the morning and are held on the weekends – that is the worst possible time for a dj or scenester to shop! My record fair is at night and often on a weekday so that music industry folks and club hoppers can come by with ease!

At the end of 2005, along with my buddy Matt Moldover, I formed a monthly party that showcased the talents of musicians that love to use forward-thinking technology. An enthusiastic and fun-loving community grew quickly and now the Warper Party is involved in events all over New York and the rest of the U.S. as well. My current co-director Mike Hatsis and I welcome artists of all skill levels to play, volunteer help, share knowledge, and network at our events.

“Thrift On!” Clothing (and stuff) swap party

Join our FACEBOOK GROUP

Four times a year, once per season, I put together a clothing (and stuff) swap at a local bar. Folks bring bags of items, we put them out onto tables and racks, and then everyone takes what they want. Leftovers are brought to the charity bin after the swap. My partner dj Man “S” and I spin second-hand records, run a raffle of previously-owned prizes, and lead contests and general silliness! “Thrift On!” has enjoyed television, newspaper, radio, and magazine coverage in 7 countries!!
